Unbeaten rising star Mitchell Smith will defend his WBO Intercontinental Super-Featherweight title against George Jupp at the Manchester Arena on Saturday 19 December, live on BoxNation.
The bout was originally scheduled to take place this month but injury has delayed the intriguing domestic showdown between former sparring partners until the big Xmas Cracker show.
‘King Mitch’ a BoxNation favourite, will be looking to end the year with a bang to set up some big potential fights with the likes of Ryan Walsh in 2016.
The 22 year old took to Twitter to express his delight the fight is on:
Bang on That's the news I wanted! I'm fighting George Jupp For my WBO intercontinental title December 19th M.E.N Manchester! And Still 👑— Mitchell Smith (@MitchellSmith92) October 26, 2015
Jupp is unbeaten in nearly four years after two early career defeats, one of which against the fan-friendly Choi Tseveenpurev.
Smith, the Boxing Writers Young Fighter of the Year, has raced to 13-0 (7kos) in his professional career and produced this knock out of the year contender back in March:
