Roman Gonzalez is ready to enhance his reputation as the pound for pound king and create history by becoming the first Nicaraguan four weight World Champion.

The softly spoken 45-0 sensation is on the cusp of that landmark when he challenges for Carlos Cuadras’ WBC World Super-Flyweight Title.

Victory for Gonzalez would see him surpass his idol, the legendary Alexis Argüello, who held World Titles at three different weights.

Defending Champion Cuadras believes it’s a step too far for Gonzalez who moves up to 115lbs.

When asked for a response to Cuadras’ recent size statement, Gonzalez refused to be drawn into a slanging match.

“Everyone is free to be how they are, my form of talk is demonstrating my talent in the ring. I want to let him know I’m 100% prepared for the fight.”

After breaking from recent Gennady Golovkin undercards, Chocolatito is proud to be headlining his first show in the U.S.

Speaking with Fighthub, the Nicaraguan sensation revealed: “It’s a humbling experience. I didn’t think I would get to this point, I want to keep on winning. I feel blessed!”

Gonzalez has used the renowned Big Bear high altitude training camp in California for his fight preparation and is more than happy with the results.

“My two months training in Big Bear is going to pay off. I’m motivated and happy. I hope everything comes out on fight night as planned.”
