Errol Spence Jr insists he’s ready to shine come Sunday night when he fights Leonard Bundu live on BoxNation.
The unbeaten, rising star has been heavily tipped to go all the way and claim World honours but for now Spence has to get past the tricky, experienced Italian Bundu.
“I’m feeling good, I’m on weight and 100% prepared to put on a great show,” revealed Spence who returns to New York, his city of birth.
“It’s like my second home coming here. It’s like I’ve never left. Everything has been great this week,” stated the slick southpaw now residing in Texas.
A shot at the IBF World Welterweight crown is in sight, Spence is ready to dazzle as he looks to move to 21-0: “My goal is to look impressive. I’m not going to force the knockout but if it comes I’ll take it.”
Kell Brook currently holds the IBF World Title and with an upcoming fight with the feared Kazakh Gennady Golovkin, Spence isn’t convinced Brook will come back down to 147 lbs.
“It’s a bold move, I take my hat off to Kell Brook. Hopefully he does good but he might even go to 154lbs after.”
Fans have fantasised over a potential showdown with Terence Crawford in the not so distant future but Spence is focused on reigning at Welterweight first.
“I haven’t imagined it. We’re both young guys, he’s a great fighter it could happen in the future but at the moment I’m worrying about people at 147 lbs.”
