Rising Welterweight starlet Errol Spence Jr has hit out at his divisional rivals for ducking him.
The promising, unbeaten 26 year old fights Chris Algieri this Saturday night live on BoxNation, insisting he’s ready to be let off the leash.
“A lot of reporters and people on social media are asking when I’m stepping up. Why am I fighting tomato cans?”
“It’s not that easy. When you look good in the ring, no one wants to fight you,” explained the decorated amateur.
With five stoppages wins on the spin, ‘The Truth’ is sitting nicely in the World Rankings and will be ready to pounce on a World Title shot should he come through Saturday night’s next test.
“No one wants to fight a prospect who’s heading up, especially when established because they have everything to lose and nothing to gain,” said Spence, who is now ranked #2 with the IBF.
Spence takes on Chris Algieri, in his own back yard at the Barclays Center in New York knowing victory would put him one step closer to achieving his dream.
“I’d like to thank Chris Algieri for taking this fight, he’s got a lot of heart,” explained the slick southpaw, who was speaking at a pre-fight media day with ThaBoxingVoice.
I want everyone to tune in! It’s going to be a great fight, one for the history books!
