Londoner Ola Afolabi will face Rakhim Chakhkiev on BoxNation’s latest live show announcement in Kazan, Russia on November 4.

The bill topped by Alexander Povetkin taking on Mariusz Wach plus two World Titles on the undercard also features this intriguing Cruiserweight crossroads fight.

Ola Afolabi

Afolabi is coming off the back of a points defeat to Victor Ramirez who BoxNation viewers will have seen scraping a draw against Ovill McKenzie in recent weeks.

The 35 year old will need to get past Chakhiev if he wants to get back into the World Title mix.

Boasting a draw against Marco Huck shows the former WBO interim Cruiserweight Champion has it within him to contest at the highest level.

Though Huck edged the rematch, Afolabi put together back to back wins before the Ramirez defeat in April.

‘Kryptonite’ boasts an explosive overhand right which destroyed fellow Brit Terry Dunstan in one round on the Klitschko v Haye undercard to boost his popularity.

Afolabi v Chakhiev

Southpaw Chakhkiev has only one defeat on his record, at the hands of Krzysztof Wlodarczyk who stopped ‘The Machine’ in eight.

Victory for either man would put them back in the frame to contest for a World title. Chakhkiev, who won Olympic Gold back in 2008, is currently ranked in the top five with both the WBC and IBF.
