Like father, like son. Shane Mosley Jr has followed in his old man’s footsteps into life as a professional boxer.
The 25 year old boasts a 6-1 record with five wins inside the distance and features on Saturday night’s undercard.
“It’s going to be a huge event, I’m excited for my Dad to fight. He’s trained hard, we’ve had a great training camp with Roberto Duran. I absolutely believe he’ll become the WBA interim World Champion!” revealed Jr.
The promising Super-Middleweight is the spitting image of ‘Sugar’ Shane and is looking to carry the Mosley name forward.
“I’m also on the card, doing six rounds. It’s exciting to be on the show.”
It’s the third fight of 2016 for Mosley who aims to keep active throughout the year.
“I’m a boxer puncher, I can box well and also punch hard thanks to my Dad! I feel I have fast hands and smart movement in the ring,” explained Jr.
The winner of Saturday night’s main event will be mandatory to fight the winner of Shawn Porter v Keith Thurman and there’s only one man Jr is hoping gets his hand raised.
“I believe Porter will break Thurman down but it all depends who implements their game plan first. I want Shawn to win, he’s part of our camp.”
