Anthony Yarde returns on December 9th against Nikola Sjekloca, and wants to become the first man to stop the experienced Serbian at the Copper Box Arena.
His upcoming bout against Sjekloca might be his toughest test yet, considering his opponent has faced high-calibre fighters like Robert Sitieglitz, Callum Smith and Arthur Abraham already.
“It’s definitely a step-up on paper. I’ve heard about his record. He’s never been knocked out so that’s my motivation,” Yarde told FightHype.
“Not that I go in there looking for knockouts but that’s my motivation. There’s probably a reason he’s never been knocked out so that’s something I’ll take seriously. I’m just focused on myself I don’t care who is put in front of me. I don’t take any opponent lightly.”
The Beast’s’ progression in the pro ranks has been fast. Yarde commented on the rate of his development: “2017’s been good. It’s been all knockouts, all good performances and I’ve hardly been hit. So I’m doing something right.
“I’m a big critic of myself, until there’s perfection, which there will probably never will be, then I’ll still be a critic,” added the Londoner.
