Maurice Hooker certainly made a name for himself when appearing on a recent episode of the BoxNation Podcast, and caught Terry Flanagan's attention.
Last week, the unbeaten American repeatedly explained that he plans to punch Flanagan "right in his mouth" during their April 14th WBO World Super-Lightweight Title bout.
"I'm gonna wake him up. I'm gonna shock him! I'm gonna punch him right in his mouth. I hit hard with both hands. He's never fought anyone with skills like me. He runs a lot. He does that real good. Power? He hasn't got any power," he told Steve Lillis.
Flanagan tweeted his surprise at Hooker's outburst asking, "What have I ever done to him?"
Someone said they were gonna punch me in the mouth in a couple months so thought best get in the gym 👀 pic.twitter.com/pTeYwPrjOb— Terry Flanagan (@terryflanagan5) February 20, 2018
In response, 'Turbo' posted a video of him training. "Someone said they were gonna punch me in the mouth in a couple months so thought best get in the gym," said the 28-year-old.
The former Lightweight titlist is aiming to become a two-weight World Champion at The O2, and establish himself as the best Super-Lightweight on the planet.
If he beats Hooker, Flanagan could be set to face stablemates Jack Catterall or Ohara Davies later this year.
