Following on from Saturday’s controversial draw at the Manchester Arena, both Thomas Stalker and Craig Evans are more than open to a rematch to settle the score.
After ten gruelling rounds with the vacant WBO European Lightweight Title at stake, the three judges’ scored the bout 97-93 Stalker, 94-96 Evans and 95-95 a draw.
‘The Captain’ Stalker appeared to edge the fight, nearly taking the Welshman out in the last round with referee Steve Gray taking a close look.
In fairness to Evans, he showed his honesty post fight speaking with BoxNation’s Steve Bunce “I thought he just pinched it”.
The 31 year old former Olympian was downbeat after the decision “I wanted to take the belt home to my kids! I’ve done everything right, I’m gutted.”
