Super-Heavyweight Frazer Clarke and Olympian Muhammad Ali have been named in the British Lionhearts’ squad for the fixture in Paris, live on BoxNation this Thursday night.

The Lionhearts face the France Fighting Roosters at the Salle Wagram aiming to bounce back from their opening 2017 World Series of Boxing defeat to Italia Thunder.

Lightweight Luke McCormack and Welterweight Cyrus Pattinson are the other GB Boxing members, and the squad is made up by overseas selection Radoslav Pantaleev, a Light-Heavyweight.

Ali, who won silver at the 2015 European Championships, competed at the Rio 2016 Games but lost in the last 16. For Thursday’s game against France, he is joined by the experienced Clarke who is undefeated in the competition.

“It will be difficult as France have some good boxers, however we have a good experienced line-up so it should make for a great match,” Clarke told GB Boxing.

In the first match of the new WSB season, Robert McCracken’s squad were narrowly defeated in Rome 3-2, with Galal Yafai and Dalton Smith winning their bouts.

This week they travel away again before two home fixtures at York Hall against Morocco and Italy in March. Their French opponents brushed the Morocco Atlas Lions aside in the last round, triumphing 4-1.
