*Note: WBC title on the line for Canelo Alvarez only, after Cotto allegedly failed to pay a WBC sanctioning fee.
Sylvester Stallone paid a visit to Miguel Cotto at the Wild Card gym, Hollywood; as he continued the promotional tour for the seventh instalment in the Rocky franchise, Creed. Cotto is in training for his November 21st world title defence against flame-haired Saul Alvarez, with Freddie Roach.

At 35, some argue that Cotto is too old to defend his title against 25 year-old Canelo, the similarity of the situation to the Rocky series was not lost of Stallone who declared:
“I gotta put him in a movie, he’s the real Rocky”

Stallone and his daughter, Sophia, posed for pictures and watched as Cotto sparred, Sylvester commented:
“He [Cotto] fights, some people box, some people dance, he fights.”
The Wild Card gym is no stranger to celebrities and last month was visited by hip-hop legend and sports promoter Jay-Z.
Cotto v Canelo will decide the fate of the WBC World Middleweight championship and is promising to be one of the fights of 2015. With the winner expected to be in line to face Gennady Golovkin in 2016, the stakes couldn’t be higher.
