It shouldn't be too long before we see the return of the exciting Ruslan Provodnikov.

After parting ways with legendary trainer Freddie Roach, Provodnikov linked up with new trainer Joel Diaz back in October before his successful last outing in Monaco.

Speaking with FightHype, Diaz explained three options that are currently on the table for the ‘Siberian Rocky’ one of which will be confirmed shortly: “He should be back pretty soon, there’s been talks about Herrera and Matthysse.”

Unbeaten Mexican Antonio Orozco is the third name in the frame but Diaz admits he would rather see a rematch with either Mauricio Herrera or Lucas Matthysse, who both hold points wins against the 32 year old Russian.

“Orozco is a young fighter, he’s very strong but we already know what to expect with the other two fights that’s why I’m picking those two over Orozco.”

An exact date is to be confirmed but Diaz revealed Provodnikov is ready and waiting.

“Nothing is solid yet, he’s back in training and waiting to see what they got for him,” added Diaz.
