Big-punching bantamweight Zolani Tete has taken to Twitter to let Ryan Burnett know that he still has a World title unification clash very much on his mind.

WBO World champion Tete has been keen to share the ring with the unbeaten Northern Irishman, who holds the WBA version of the world title, as he looks to stamp his authority on the 118-pound weight class.

25-year-old Burnett also recently vacated the IBF World title and is lined up to face mandatory challenger Yonfrez Parejo at the end of this month.

However, after posting up a picture following a hard gym session, with the caption ‘Another day done another day closer’, Burnett would have been caught by surprise when he checked his notifications.

Waiting for him there was a menacing waving hand from South African hotshot Tete just to let the Belfast boxer know his movements weren’t going unnoticed.

Following his devastating world record knockout win over Siboniso Gonya last November, the fastest ever in a World title fight in just 11 seconds, Tete didn’t hold back from calling for the Burnett showdown.

He made the trip to Burnett’s home city of Belfast in his last outing and does so again this April 21st when he defends his World title against Argentina’s Omar Andres Narvaez on the fantastic Carl Frampton v Nonito Donaire card at The SSE Arena.

Southpaw Tete will no doubt be looking to make another huge impression on Burnett’s very own turf next month, with the hope that it will be enough to goad the Ulsterman into a much anticipated unification matchup.
