Undefeated Jack Catterall will face the hardest test in his fledgling career in Tyrone Nurse, when he challenges for the British Super-Lightweight Title on October 21st in Leeds. However, the Lancashire fighter is supremely confident despite this being a step up in class.

Speaking to VIPBoxingPromotions Catterall was excited about the opportunity: “Yeah it’s an all British Title fight, Tyrone’s had a good run. I’m mandatory for the title, it’s an exciting fight. It’s a fight I’m looking forward to, I’m looking forward to taking his title!”

Catterall has been unfazed by the experience gap between the two with the young southpaw entering into only his 19th content, this will be Nurse’s 40th. The challenger thinks his athleticism and ability will bridge the experience gap, “A few people have said I’m one-paced, that’s down to timing, timing beats speed when you’re in the ring with me it’s totally different.

“It’s all about the little things, the basic things, the little head movements. [I picked up things from sparring with Mayweather Jr.] all the time. You watch other fighters in different environments. Eyes and ears open and you can learn no matter where you are.”

‘El Gato’ is sure this is the perfect time for a shot at Tyrone Nurse and his British Title as he approaches his best years, “100% [this is my time] I don’t even think I’m at my peak, I want [World Title fights]. This fight with Tyrone has come at a perfect time. I’ve had a good training camp. It’s a British Title fight so there is incentive there!”
