Legendary eight-time World Champion Thomas Hearns believes Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez could be the man to dethrone Gennady Golovkin.
On September 16th, the Mexican challenges for Triple G's WBC, IBF and WBA 'Super' World Titles in Las Vegas, live on BoxNation Box Office.
“GGG is a strong fighter, can fight with anyone, but does not get away from blows,” Hearns told ESPN Deportes.
“If Canelo does what he has to do, boxing, staying out of danger, and if he does that when he lets go of his punches, he has a good chance of winning.”
Last time out, Golovkin outpointed Danny Jacobs in a close fight where some observers thought he may have lost. Prior to that, the Kazakh crusher stopped Kell Brook in London but the Englishman, coming up two weight classes, did get through Golovkin's defence on a few occasions.
Hearns knows what makes a good fight. The American's World Middleweight Title bout with undisputed Champion 'Marvellous' Marvin Hagler in April 1985 is regarded as one of the greats of the division.

The breathless battle only lasted three rounds, ending in a Hagler stoppage victory, but each round featured non-stop back-and-forth action.
“[Canelo v Golovkin] is a fight that people will talk about for a long time, people have been waiting a long time for something and I too. I cannot wait any longer,” he explained.
“People come to see a show, so if you give them a good show, they will remember it for a long time, and people want to see them fight.”
