Unbeaten Lightweights Felix Verdejo and William Silva fight for the WBO Latino Title on Saturday night’s Terence Crawford v Hank Lundy undercard.
Verdejo, who was picked by BoxNation’s Glynn Evans as one to watch in 2016, finds himself in the top 15 of each recognised governing body and primed for a shot at World honours in the not so distant future if he can preserve his perfect record.
Both fighters are ranked highly within the WBO, Verdejo #3 and Silva #12 in a competitive division.
Victory for either man would only enhance their chances of earning a shot at the full WBO World Lightweight Title, which will of course be contested between defending Champion Terry Flanagan and Derry Mathews on March 12.
The promising Puerto Rican Verdejo has another date lined up on April 16 as promoter Bob Arum looks to showcase his talented star in front of his home fans before earning a World Title shot later this year.
"We expect him to be a major PPV star going into 2017," Arum told Boxing Scene.
