Canelo Alvarez feels confident ahead of his vacant WBC World Middleweight title clash with stripped former champion Miguel Cotto, and signed off with a message to his English fans watching on BoxNation.

Cotto lost his title overnight after being stripped by the WBC, leaving Oscar De La Hoya to label him "a disgrace", but Canelo can still win the belt if he defeats Cotto this Saturday night.

"I feel very well, I've gained a lot of experience. But in this sport of boxing, you never stop learning. This fight couldn't have come at a better moment and I'm ready," 45-1-1 Mexican star Canelo said.

"Miguel Cotto's a great fighter, he has tremendous experience, he's fought the best, he's strong. But that's what I prepared for, that's what I'm here for. On the 21st, I'm going to show my experience and my strength, and we're going to come out with the victory."

When asked about his watching English fan base, Canelo said he wanted to make them proud live on BoxNation from midnight.

"I'm very proud of the support [my English fans have] given me, and I'm going to give them a great fight. This won't be any different."
