The Indira Gandhi Arena in New Delhi is primed to host Vijender Singh’s big homecoming, pencilled in for June.

A WBO delegation, led by John Duggan, accompanied by Francis Warren and members of Vijender’s team visited the IG Stadium over the weekend to run the rule over the atmospheric arena.

The 14,000 capacity venue is the largest indoor arena in India and recently underwent a renovation in the run up to the 2010 Commonwealth Games.

Recently, the WWE hosted two live events in the Arena to a capacity crowd.

Vijender, who has made a fine start to life as a pro, boxes next on March 12’s big show in Liverpool and is lined up for a subsequent fight in Harrow just three weeks later.

Francis Warren previously outlined exciting plans to showcase Singh’s talents to his home crowd and this visit will only whet the appetite for his adoring fans to get a glimpse of the Olympian up close and personal.
