Vijender Singh believes his homecoming fight is a “game changer” for Indian boxing.

Singh, who has racked up a 100% KO ratio from his first six fights as life as a professional now steps up against Kerry Hope on Saturday 16 July in Delhi.

Singh v Hope

The Mertyhr born, Aussie based Hope will be familiar to U.K fans after fighting the likes of Darren Barker and Grzegorz Proksa in recent years.

Speaking at the fight announcement press conference, Vijender can’t wait to showcase his talent in front of his home fans once more: “I’m excited, lots of people are interested! Finally its happening, the first pro fight in India."

With a World Ranking at stake for the winner, Singh knows this fight is key to unlocking further doors during the rest of 2016 and beyond.

The former Olympian is the flag bearer for Indian boxing and will inspire the next crop of budding amateurs who turn over after the Rio Olympics this Summer.
