This Saturday, May 20th, Anthony Yarde challenges for his first professional title against Chris Hobbs. Yarde has blown away 9 out of 10 opponents early and Hobbs is expected to be his first real step up in class.

Frank Warren, speaking to iFL TV, rates his man highly, “He’s done everything [asked of him] ... he’s only had 11 amateur fights, turned pro and there are some question marks there with him.”

“We know what he’s good at doing, but what happens when he gets hit on the whiskers? What’s he going to be like over 10 or 12 rounds? They’re all questions that are going to be answered.”

‘The Beast’ has a reputation for excitement, punching power and a brutal, uncompromising style. Warren is excited at his box office appeal and knows he has an all action fighter on hand: “He is exciting and he is a finisher. When [Yarde] gets you in trouble you have a problem!”

“His hand-speed is brilliant and the way he picks his shots, he picks them so well. When you think he’s only had 24 fights in his whole career. Half amateur, half professional. That’s a statement for a young guy to be where he’s at. It’s quite astonishing.”

“He’s a Light-Heavyweight, and he doesn’t have an ounce [of fat] on him. He’s solid, makes the weight. Very professional and he does the business. He’s exciting, he’s like a young Nigel Benn.”
