Unbeaten Heavyweight prospect Hughie Fury believes his cousin Tyson is flying ahead of July 9’s much anticipated rematch with Wladimir Klitschko.
“There’s always a good mood when Tyson is around. It’s a good vibe, we’ve had some good sparring. Camp is going well.”
The Fury camp is located once more just outside of a tranquil setting in Rotterdam to keep the team fully focused.
“He’s in a good frame of mind. Over here in Holland it’s train, eat, sleep then repeat. You’ve got to be zoned out from everyone. We’re basically in the middle of nowhere, it’s a full time job,” explained Hughie to the Cassius and Helder show.
Reflecting on that night back in November when the long standing Champion was dethroned, Fury recalls: “It was an unbelievable night but I’m confident this time he’ll win it easy. He already has the measurement of Klitschko.”
Asked if he believes defeat would send ‘Dr Steelhammer’ into retirement, the 20-0 starlet replied: “Absolutely, 100%”
The 40 year old legendary Champion makes his 69th professional outing on July 9 and refused to answer speculation he may call it a day regardless of the result, during April’s pre-fight press conference.
“When Tyson beats him where else is he going to go? Even if he didn’t want to retire, I think he’s the second best out there. I reckon he’d beat the likes of Deontay Wilder,” revealed Hughie.
The 21 year old is pencilled in to return on the big Manchester undercard but after being recently diagnosed with Acne Conglobata, Hughie’s main objective is to get back to full fitness.
“My career at the minute is to just get 100% better, I have been struggling. It was making me tired all the time. It wasn’t the nicest thing to deal with, I thought it was just spots but it was a rare type of Acne. I’m on medication now, I need to get through it and hopefully it’ll clear up and back to 100%”
