Carl Frampton and Lee Selby exchanged verbal jabs during a Twitter exchange on Wednesday night, with Frampton taking a dig at Selby's career.
It started when a fan tweeted Selby stating that he should've stayed in the U.K. to fight Frampton, Scott Quigg or Josh Warrington.
"All three have been offered the fight, all three have turned it down," the Welshman replied.
Frampton, a former two-weight World Champion, took exception to this and asked, "Lee, who's telling you they're making offers? Cause [sic] I've heard nada, nothing, f*ck all."
. @RealCFrampton when your done with the 'warm up' fights,I'm ready. let's give the fans the fight they really want to see.— lee selby (@leeselby126) October 10, 2017
Selby then implied that Frampton's next outing, a Belfast homecoming on November 18th, is just a "warm up" fight.
"Your whole career has been warm up fights," the Northern Irishman fired back.
Lee, with all due respect, your whole career has been "warm up" fights. https://t.co/iJe5THNH8S— Carl Frampton MBE (@RealCFrampton) October 10, 2017
In May 2015, Selby lifted his IBF World Featherweight Title. But he is yet to headline his own U.K. show as World Champion, fighting on the undercards of Anthony Joshua, David Haye and Chris Eubank Jr.
Frampton is hoping to secure a huge stadium fight at Windsor Park next summer, with Leo Santa Cruz, Selby, Warrington and Oscar Valdez being touted as potential opponents.
