John Riel Casimero has issued a warning to the Bantamweight division.
This Saturday he defends his interim WBO World Bantamweight Title against Cesar Ramirez, live on BoxNation.
A win could set up a clash with full Champion Zolani Tete, who must face the winner inside 90 days, so it’s a huge fight for the Filipino.
Naoya Inoue, IBF Champion, is currently recognised as the number one and the Japanese 'Monster' takes on WBA titlist Nonito Donaire in the WBSS final in November. Nordine Oubaali holds the WBC belt.
“They had their time. Now it’s my time to beat them all,” Casimero told SunStar Cebu.
“Yes, I’m very much ready,” the 30 year old said referring to Saturday's showdown in San Juan City. “He’s [Ramirez] a tough opponent and should not be taken lightly.
“What I’m really preparing for is a fight with Tete,” said Casimero. “Tete is my target right now.”
Tete hasn't fought since October last year after suffering an injury to his right hand in April, forcing him to pull out of the WBSS semi-final against Donaire.
'Last Born' confirmed to Soweten Live that talks have started with Casimero's team: “There is communication with the camp of John Riel Casimero. I'm hoping to get the date soon. Even my followers are asking earnestly about my comeback.
“I want to make sure that I'm in tip-top physical condition when the date of my return to the ring is announced," added Tete.
